Middle and Lower River Restoration Updates

The Settlement Contractors continue to support native fishery restoration on the middle and lower river through participation in the Floodplain Forward Coalition and Floodplains Reimagined efforts.

  • Landowners and districts continue to support nutrient augmentation in the river through the Fish Food Program. It is estimated 147,000 lbs of food was produced in 2025 program. See media spotlight post for story with KCRA 3 in Sacramento.

  • Technical assistance in the Butte Sink, Sutter Bypass, and Colusa Basin Drain regions continue to support landowner and land manager questions regarding how existing operations can voluntarily integrate with floodplain enhancement for fish, wildlife, and birds. 

  • Floodplain Forward Coalition monthly meetings are on the first Friday of the month. Please reach out to NCWA or SRSC if you are interested in participating in the meetings and receiving monthly updates.
